On this day, I first mountain biked the route, which is one of my weekly go-to rides. I had packed for a duathlon but wasn't sure what I was going to run after riding. As I began running, I thought I'd go just two miles. Yet, two miles in, I thought, heck, maybe I'll just run the same 10k-ish route. I've done lots of self-created duathlons in Ohiopyle but never this particular one. I was feeling good and decided to go for it. A ground bee stung me in the shin a couple times around mile 3.5, at the overlook bench, but other than that, it was uneventful and super fun.
