What can be better than bombing downhill in soft sand, directly to the water? Of course you have to slog back up again - 10 times - but the air, water, and sand is clean and fresh. I did this the day after a triathlon so was a bit tired, so improving on this time shouldn't be hard. Regardless, any time spent in Sleeping Bear is worth it. By July the local blueberries and raspberries are in, with peaches and sweet corn following, and the local wine can be very good.
