Quite the challenge. Started at Fox’s Low and caught the Myakka trail from there, running counter clockwise. It was a stormy, humid, and warm day with wind gust up to 33mph followed by rainstorms. I got lost multiple times but was able to reconnect to the trail after a brief map reference. Some parts of the trail are very overgrown and easier to loose than others. Overall it was a beautiful and invigorating run that I would do again despite the challenges. I brought 3.5 L of water and 4 gels that barely got me to the finish line. I would recommend bringing more water and food. Good wildlife out despite the storms. I saw otters, wild boars, field mice, bob whites, deers, and a multitude of birds of prey. This loop is a great wild Florida experience.
