We ran the route North to south because the ferry landed there. Like Volker said, the section close to Ryde are next to busy streets so we have been glad when this was over. The section close to Sandown was really nice, so I think the direction was better from N>S. We enjoyed the trails very much, but the connection parts next to roads aren‘t optimal.
We had 1l of water each as it was quite warm and a brief stop for wild blackberries (totaly worth it).
