Ran up the Palisade plunge today! I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. It’s a really cool route, and I love how you get to watch the terrain change so much as elevation is gained. It was hot as expected, but got the lower section out of the way before 9 AM which was a good call. The water supply at mile 16 is flowing strong (though with the little snow we have this year I was worried it may not be flowing). Then after that first stream there were three other creek crossings to get water if needed. I suppose the one benefit of going UP this thing is that there’s more water in the second half of the route. It came out to a bit less gain than expected, right around 8k. The trail is not super well maintained at the moment and has a handful of downed trees to navigate up higher.
