Started this run at 1:40 in the morning and finished at 1:30 in the pm, we did it counterclockwise like last time I did it in June, 2024. Due to this early start I was unable to poop in the morning and unfortunately didn't get one out until I got home, which my friend Erin would say is a huge handicap and has obligated me to mention here ;)
My girl Halley ran the half 9 trails section with me -- under an epic full moon. I didn't take any pictures but it was GORGEOUS. Then we got to Romero and met up with Chris who was probably the best pacer I've ever had. Stopped for a dip in the grotto but other than that we kept moving basically the whole 12 hours. He pushed me on the climbs and told me I could make it under 12 hours on the final descent. And then I did!
Super epic day, super epic route, happy to have friends that will show up for me at all hours of the day and night. Feeling very blessed. Also had a crew meet me at the end with my pup pictured in one of these photos.
