The forecast was calling for rain and thunderstorms all day! Luckily, they didn't occur. What they did get right however, was the humidity! It was INCREDIBLY HOT today! I started at 5:40am. I did rain the night prior, so everything was wet. My feet were soaked by 7 min into the run. All good! The rain was holding out and I was grateful for that. 

I did section 5 only 2 weeks ago. My calf seems a little better but it's still a bit jacked. I knew I wanted to continue staying smart and keeping the totality of the project in mind throughout this section. The run was all about managing the elements: the wet rocks, the tall/wet grass, my calf/achilles, hydration, calorie intake, and head space. It certainly wasn't the fastest running I've done this year, but that's ok sometimes. The next 3 sections are very long and I'm on a very tight timeline due to 2 other planned hiking trips. 

Happy to make it to the end to see Jamieson's smiling face and to get out of my very wet, and sweaty clothes!! 

Project 9: I've always wanted to do the Bruce Trail again, since my supported effort in 2017. Unfortunately, at this time, circumstances will not allow this to occur. This is the absolute best next thing. My goal is to earn unsupported FKTs on all 9 Bruce Trail sections in 2023. Distances range from 50km-106 miles. It won't be easy, but I'm super motivated to give it my all!!
