Jamieson and I have done the Wilderness Section of the Ganaraska multiple times solo. We've talked about exploring this side trail often, but the conditions have to be right. Anyone who has been in the Wildnerness Section knows what we're taking about. It's very overgrown, and full of beaver dams which makes navigating difficult. So when we had a good weather window, late in the season, we jumped on the opportunity to run this Figure 8 loop.
Waking up at 5am, we drove to Victoria Falls to start the trail at first light. A quick check of the map, we headed in the right direction (after a false start), not knowing what to expect. The run was a bit slow with the down leaves. We had to be careful moving forward, but it was all good. We kept our spirits high, talking all day and enjoying the different terrain. Our feet were definitely wet all day, but overall it was a fun day...even running into a couple of hunters.
We brought enough food and water for the day, not needing to filter any more. Overall, it was a success! A fantastic fall day spent with each other ❤️.
