With my boyfriend out of town and my kids went back at their dad's this morning, I contemplated watching Netflix all day but NAH!!!! That's not like me!! I'm still not allowed to leave the County due to COVID-19 employer rules, so I decided to run the Oro-Midland side trail out and back. I didn't have any expectations going into the run as my legs were still a bit tired from last weekend's 73km FKT. That's alright though, it would be training towards the multi-day efforts I want to do a little later in the year. The day was overcast with a high chance of heavy rains (so glad it didn't rain after all). It was quite windy++ on the road sections. I wore capris tights because the single track is not so well maintained and I tucked my raincoat in my UD Vesta 4.0. I brought a few snacks (including yummy Endurance Taps) and packed up a coke & fig bar in a ziplock bag which I dropped at the 17 km marker (got to love out and backs). The run was going great until the wheels fell off with ~ 90 minutes to go. The terrain was incredibly lumpy and I was letting it get to me. With MANY MANY positive affirmations, I continued persevering knowing that the faster I tried to run, the faster I would get out of the misery. Overall, I'm very happy with my effort...even if I was contemplating my life choices after the run haha. I won't get into the car troubles I had on my way home :/ (Final distance according to my Coros is 58.2 km with a run elevation gain of 816 m)
