It started raining at the beginning of the run, which was great for cooling on the ascent, but I was a tiny bit more cautious on the descent because of it. It was a light rain so there was no mud and the dirt wasn't slippery but the rocks started to get slick. I timed the run for this time of year so that it wasn't hot but before leaf fall because it's risky to go really fast on the descent when there's a fresh layer of fallen leaves. Other than the little bit of rain, I say the timing and weather was perfect. Not much too it other than head down on the grinding climb then eyes ahead for the descent off the top before it gets a little less technical about halfway down and you can open up on the runnable downhill. There's plenty of folks who will be able to go faster than me so I'm excited to see what the time will get down to!
