I have included my excel file that has all the links for my Garmin watch which can be pasted into a URL documenting my climbs for the year. I have also included links to a couple relevant news articles documenting my initial attainment of the female record (1004 hikes) and then acknowledging my overall accomplishment of 1222 laps in a 365 day period (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023). I also included some milestone photos when I hit 500 laps, and some when I was in the 1200's
You will see that I was able to gradually increase the number of ascents I could accomplish in a day as well as consecutive days. Some of the hardest days were when it was 90 plus degrees and I was doing multiple ascents. Even harder at times was getting out to do at least one lap even though the ambient temperature was pegging 0 degrees and the steps were covered in snow.
I indicate that it was supported, because I had encouragement and support from my husband who would help me pack my snack cooler in the morning with calories and water that I could use to recharge and refresh after a few laps. He would join me on occasion on the weekends and such. There were also a few folks up there encouraging me on any given day who would join me on a lap or two. Other days it was me battling myself and my own mind. Ultimately I had to do all the hikes with my own two legs ;p
When it comes down to it for my incline year, I was either working in the hospital (I am an ICU nurse) or hiking laps on the incline.
