The full 120k Wild Peak Round round. As I hadn't really trained for this my plan was to just plod round and just have fun (well as much as I could whilst running 70 odd miles!). It was going to be very wet and boggy underfoot and at least half of it would be in darkness - but we love it right! I set off at midnight on Saturday and plodded my way round finishing on Sunday afternoon. It was STUNNING, such gorgeous trails and an incredible way to see some parts of the Peak District I've never visited and bring some attention to the wonderful nature reserves of Derbyshire. There were hills, canals, bogs, rivers, fields, gates, tracks, cement works, sunshine, and a little smattering of rain. A gorgeous day (and night) out. There is plenty of time to be taken off this FKT and I might have another go at it in the Summer but for now it was nice to be the first person to complete it.
