It had been some time since I had done a "long" trail run. I had heard about the extratrail black routes which are 1 hour from my home and I said to myself that it was an opportunity for me to go there and why not try to have a good time, see an FTK. I decided to try it on a beautiful day, but in this period, it is cold and therefore, it was a good opportunity for me not to carry too much water. So I started this Saturday, December 5 under a beautiful sun, I directly attacked the 1st climb which already gave a lead of the 1000M of D + which awaited me. Throughout the race, I managed my pace and took advantage of the descents to accelerate. Despite the really technical and muddy paths, my feet soaked, I didn't want to lose 1sec to take pictures because the more I went, the more I realized that the FKT was possible for me. Arrived at 4km from Spa, I was able to keep a good pace throughout the long descent and accelerate the last km on the road leading to the start. When I looked at my time, I realized that I had achieved my goal with almost 10min ahead of the reference time. It was a great challenge for me, I am very happy to have made it.
