So I decided to challenge myself and attempt to establish a new Fastest Known Time in my local hills.

The route is as follows; start at the fountain in Falkland village. Make your way to the Summit of Benarty Hill, ensuring you reach the summits of all the following hills: East Lomond, West Lomond, Bishop Hill and Benarty Hill. Any route is allowed. (There are better options than the one I ran today! Check my bimble back for ideas...)

I’ll submit this on the FKT website for review and wait to see if it gets accepted. I have a feeling it will as it’s a cracker of a route and a cracker of a challenge. Definitely possible to get well under 2 hours I reckon some could smash it in 90 mins especially if they take a better route! So go for it, give it a bash if you’re a local or why not try to beat an FKT in your local area? Go to https://fastestknowntime.com/ and you can see what’s in your area. Or do what I’ve done and attempt to set up a new one! With races in the back burner, this is a great way to challenge each other!

Ended up wasting a bit of time in a few areas just enjoying the views and getting a little lost but left the watch running for the entire FKT.

Also took the scenic route up Benarty Hill due to unfamiliarity with that route. Added a few extra km on!

The most important thing is that I had fun! Great to be back in some real hills. Plus, it’s always good to do something a bit silly to raise awareness for a worthy cause. See bimble back for details on 100kinMay challenge.
