Elise and I got a nice early start before the DC crowds hit the trails this morning. Humidity has already set in in this swampy town. Perfect morning to be out there though. We followed Leigh Weil's route, to set the first mixed-gender team FKT on the route. Tried our best to cruise down the tow path, knowing the rockiness of Loop A was going to slow us down in a big way. How Mike Wardian can average a 7 mi/hr pace with Loop A in the mix, we certainly cant understand haha what a superhero. (Also, shoutout to Stringbean, who provided the inspiration for this run, via the epic AZT FKT completed last week.) Took a couple wrong turns (1 on Loop A and 1 on Loop C), but backtracked and completed the whole trail. This could be done faster for sure -- Have at it, mixed-gender teams!
