I had some time to spare before my flight home, and I was glad to see there was a short route near the airport. The terrain on the trail was surprisingly varied--from ridge lines to gullies. A small portion of the northeast section of the Mink Trail was obliterated, probably due to river flooding. Elsewhere, there were a number of downed trees--some to hop over, some to bushwack around. Due to recent rain, the smell of ash lingered in the air in a few places. There was no one else on trail, but I did see some turkeys scurry up the slope. All and all, a great way to see a little more of Nebraska!
