A few photos on Strava.
Gorgeous morning out in Calico Basin area. Another fantastic Mojave Sunrise to start the day. I gave New Peak a proper effort. It’s getting on the warm side, but I don’t think it played a role in this effort. The ascent was tough and I never felt like I had a good pace. The scramble at the top was a bit awkward, but after fumbling through it, I caught a nice flow the rest of the way down and cruised it very comfortably. I was skiing the scree and having fun, but no falls. Hell Hill down was very controlled and rode it home.
This was a reclamation of the New Peak FKT!
