I classified myself as unsupported as I carried all of my food with me and received no external assistance. I did refill my water at three rest rooms in parks along the way: in the 20th mile at LaSalle Waterfront Park, in the 25th mile at Niagara Falls State Park, and in the 31st mile at Devil's Hole State Park. I believe that given the water exemption in the guidelines, and the clarification in the FAQ regarding public water along the way, I still qualify as unsupported. Regarding effort, I ran about 80% of the distance, power-hiked the staircases in the gorge, and walked 8 miles (miles 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, 29, 34).
