Rabbit Peak via Villager Peak in the Anza-Borrego Desert is considered by many to be one of the most challenging day hikes in San Diego County. Villager Peak is renowned for its breath-taking sunrises over the Salton Sea.
Jose and I started at 7:18am from the north shoulder of the Borrego Salton Seaway. We carried our fuel and water and were supported by our friends Eli and John. We climbed up to Villager Peak and then continued the ridgeline to Rabbit. We got 22 miles and 8400' of gain in an elapsed time of 9hrs44min13sec.
