Parked in Llandecwyn and caught the 7:03 train to Barmouth. Just light enough to not need the torch as I started. An initial steep climb up above Barmouth. Great views over the sea, and then the Mawddach estuary.

Up and over a ridge then descending towards the coast before turning up to Pont Scethin...beautiful old packhorse bridge in a remote valley.

The route then changes from open moorland to a maze of footpaths through high farmland.

Crossed Cwm Nantcol and Cwm Bychan above Llanbedr before ascending to another long stretch of moorland above the Glaslyn estuary.

These few miles were really boggy and I gave up trying to keep my feet dry. Navigation was fairly easy using my watch, a paper map, and the waymarked signposts.

There was a long grassy and muddy descent to Llyn Tecwyn, before another climb up to the church... a beautiful but remote spot.

The final descent to Llandecwyn was a nice run on short grass to finish the day.

I carried all my own food and drink from the start. Had 1.5 litres of water but wish I'd taken more as I ran out with a few miles to go.
