Report
We hiked from Claire's front door (less than 1 mile from the SF plaza) all the way to Taos over the course of a week. Overall, this is a great thru-hike that Pam has pieced together due to the manageable length, varied terrain, and cultural significance of its termini. We especially enjoyed spots like Lake Katherine, Pecos Baldy Lake, Truchas Lake, and the Santa Barbara Divide. While we took our time in the first half, we had a time crunch that required us to increase our mileage in the latter half. We took a few official alternates that were included in the updated GPX file that Pam sends to SF2T members. For future hikers-- the second half would be even more spectacular in the fall while the aspens are changing colors.
