Bussed to the start with a friend and then took off separately!  Generally lots of hiking because so much was unrunnable. Around mile 8, I passed a grocery and considered buying water to refill but didn’t which led to the absolute DEPTHS just truly the biggest trenches of the whole run from mile 11-14. It was pretty rainy and I had run out of water and didn’t know if there was any opportunity to get some until ~mile 27 with the biggest climb of the route was looming ahead. The footing was legitimately a calf-deep swamp during this part. Was so desperate for water that ~mile 14, I saw a house and I rushed to it and the woman living there refilled my running vest with water! The next 3 miles were over 2000 feet in gain. Ran / hiked through some glacier fields. Then took a sketchy descent down into a town where I bought some water from Kiwi grocery and had two double stuf Oreos at mile 27ish! These few miles were through a little town with pretty colorful houses. I was super thankful for carrying so much food with me because that helped fuel especially when low on water. The vert wasn’t over and, at mile 32, I bonked harder than I ever have. I mainlined 2.5x the recommended serving of gu chews and then made it up the last climb. The first things I saw starting the descent were TONS AND TONS of baby little goats and cows and everything was good. Then met up with Davis at the end and we bussed back.
