Went at night for cooler tempertatures and less polluted air, but then had to avoid rats rushing at the last moment in front of me as there is not much light on the canal and i was arriving "fast" : very surprising at first as I couldn't see them and just hear their noise, would be better to bring a headlamp.. Road crossings were still the biggest challenge, as I didn't want to slow down too much but without crosswalks you have to be carefull, and couldn't just rush in the middle of the trafic.
I based my speed on the CR of the strava segment closest to this route (which just differ by going one bridge further, for 16km in total) and started the activity at the same place as this segment. It doesn't really matter where you start and if you run on one side of the canal only or both to do a loop in terms of distance and difficulty. I chose to do the loop as I thought it would be nicer. I didn't bring water which was a mistake, even at night it's still pretty hot.
