Główny Szlak Warmiński – Supported FKT
Date: October 23–24, 2026
Route: Główny Szlak Warmiński, Poland
Distance: approximately 237 km
Style: Supported
Time: 30:59:45 according to my watch
On October 23, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., I started my attempt to complete the entire Główny Szlak Warmiński and set a new supported Fastest Known Time.
The route starts in Olsztyn and continues through Warmia towards Dobre Miasto, Lidzbark Warmiński, Pieniężno, Braniewo, Frombork, Tolkmicko and Elbląg, before finishing in Kępki.
My main sporting goal was to improve the previous fastest time of approximately 36 hours. However, this attempt was also part of my charity project “237 KM NADZIEI” – “237 KM OF HOPE”, created to raise awareness and funds for the Elbląg Hospice.
The Główny Szlak Warmiński turned out to be exactly the kind of adventure I expected.
Some sections were very runnable, but others required much more attention. During reconnaissance before the attempt, I had already found sections blocked by fallen branches, trails disappearing into fields, mud and heavily overgrown areas. During the actual attempt, navigation was therefore one of the important elements of the challenge, especially during the night and in forest sections.
I was supported throughout the attempt by a team of friends and family.
Ola and Marta managed the logistics and met me at support points along the route, providing food, drinks, clothing and everything I needed to continue moving.
My brother Maciek accompanied me by bicycle for almost the entire route. He provided water between support points, helped me during difficult moments and was a constant presence throughout most of the attempt.
Marcin regularly joined the support crew and helped with logistics.
Darek accompanied Maciek and me for approximately 60 kilometres.
Another Marta joined us for more than 20 kilometres through the forests near Elbląg and helped us with navigation.
There were also several friends who appeared at different points of the route to support and motivate me.
As the kilometres passed, fatigue naturally increased, but the strategy remained simple: keep moving forward, manage the effort, eat, drink and solve problems as they appeared.
There were difficult moments, but there was never one single dramatic crisis that defined the attempt. It was more a gradual accumulation of fatigue after many hours on the trail.
Eventually, after more than a full day of running, walking and moving continuously through Warmia, I reached the end of the Główny Szlak Warmiński in Kępki.
My watch recorded:
30 hours, 59 minutes and 45 seconds.
This improved the previous fastest time by approximately five hours.
Although the FKT will be recorded under one name, this was very much a team effort. Without the support crew, especially Ola, Marta and Maciek, this result would not have been possible.
The sporting part of the 237 KM NADZIEI project ended at the finish line, but the main purpose of the project was always bigger than the record itself.
I wanted to use my passion for ultrarunning to help raise awareness and support for the Elbląg Hospice.
The record was the sporting goal.
The opportunity to help others was the reason to make the attempt meaningful.
Final time: 30:59:45
