Ran this route after a very rainy night and it was therefore quite muddy and thus not ideal circumstances. However, the temperature was low compared to the normal for this season, which counterbalanced the wet ground.
Because of the rain I chose to wear a pair of Inov-8 orienteering shoes with deep lugs. This was a mistake because most of the route is lose gravel, hard ground and technical terrain with many roots, and I felt the shoes too unstable because of the lugs, and therefore I could not attack the downhills as I wanted to. So better chose normal hard ground trail shoes, rain or not. 😊
Also beware that the “talent track” part of the route is a bit hidden behind grass. It is just next to the shelter but is easily missed if not being aware.
There is a water tap after ~3 km and at the last ~3 km which is open in summer time, but if you bring a bottle and it is not too hot you should be able to do without stopping for water here.
Except from this just take care to not start of too fast since the first ~1/3 and last ~1/3 is the hardest part. ⛰️🏃♂️
