I got my SO to drop me off around 5 am at the park where the trail starts. The is usually a port-o-john off to the side. The weather was pretty cool so all I needed was a bottle in my flip belt. The first 3 miles run on streets until you get to a closed multi-use path that is paved for the next 15 miles or so. The trail occasionally crosses a roadway or links up with a neighborhood street. Around mile 17, I swapped bottles with my SO in North Chatham after which the trail becomes crushed gravel for most of the rest of the way with a couple sections on the road after 26 miles. Stockport to Stottville was really nice and the last mile or so wanders into some parking lots on route 9. Eventually the closed trail ends at a carwash on 9 and becomes the Empire State Trail bike route. I grew up in the area so a good chunk of the run was a trip down memory lane but I highly recommend it to anyone.
