We ran the Shipwrights Way from Bentley station down to the Portsmouth Dockyard gates and had a brilliant journey and adventure on route. Met by a few friends who joined in for some miles, using some of the shops on route and stopping to take in some of the lovely views made for a great journey. The route has a few variations in parts where signs stop for a while, but there are many joined up paths that soon get you back onto the main route. In runs like this there are often closed sections or parts of certain pathways that are inaccessible due to conditions or tides, but there are always ways around it. A map and GPS comes in very handy (when it isn't raining that is!).
The entire journey is 50 miles and is generally lovely underfoot in dry conditions, but I could imagine in wetter conditions you'd need to consider shoe choice a bit more. This is a fantastic route to run and I recommend it or parts of it to anyone. Stunning!
