I completed the Higby 3 Peak Route out and back starting from Tynan Memorial Park Trailhead, touching the sign at the end of the trail on Route 66 trailhead, then returned back along the same route over 3 peaks to Tynan Memorial park. The route was easy to follow once I found the tree and rock markers. Prior to that was difficult to navigate as I was not able to find a downloadable a route to plug into my phone/watch gps. This was my first time exploring this trailhead and mountain preserve.
The route also was more than 6.6 mile as advertised, it ended up being approximately 8 miles with over 2300’ vertical. It was listed as 1300’ for this route. However, it was an incredible adventure. The views were fantastic, weather was perfect. For food and water, I packed 8 oz of water in my Salomon belt, and honey stinger chews. I did not eat the chews, and consumed about 6 oz of water from start to finish.
Very excited to have discovered the FKT community and cannot wait to tackle my next adventure.
