We started on Monday the third of June in Altusried at the Rathaus, in the midst of very heavy rainfall (with already some flooding). This made the trail often extremely challenging. Bart Schmahl joined for the first night. The second day the weather got better. The second day included some nice ridges and many heightmeters. Even some simple via ferrata. Claire Schmahl joined for the second night. We had a car and ate some pizza in the car. I also took a powernap in the car. I tried to sleep 1 hour a night in the rescue blanket near the trail. Gabrielle ten Velde joined for the third night. I finished together with Lotti Lohmeyer and Gabrielle ten Velde in Altusried just after midnight (Friday). We took a Taxi back to Kempten.
Two very small detours where needed (when compared to the old GPX): near Wengen a small detour was needed, the older GPX file showed a private road but the woman who lived there said it was not acessible as it was private. We took the road straight next to it. Also, the bridge near Riezlern broke down and crossing was not allowed. We took the closest bridge over the water and continued the original trail.
All in all, i was a true mountain adventure. The sleep deprivation and extreme rainfall made the trail very hard.
I can very much recommend the trail, especially the views near the Nebelhorn in the Oberstdorf area. The mountain range in the Hochstaufen area is also breathtaking.
