Set out from Robertstown by the bridge over the canal at 5.30am and completed the full route, arriving into St Mullins at just after 7.30am.
The route is perfect for running with towns and road access every 10-15k. I was fortunate to have a great support crew along the way who were able to meet me at pre-agreed points with food and liquids for the run.
I was joined by Gavin Dooley from the start point as far as Vicarstown and from there to Maganey by Rachel Smyth. A random runner who had heard about the attempt joined me from Maganey to Carlow Town and from there, I ran alone as far as Milford.
Eric Lawless fell in with me at Milford and we were both joined by Sean Coffey as far as Ballytiglea. Ger Coady ran with me from there to the finish in St Mullins, passing through the beautiful Graiguenamanagh en-route.
Warm day, tough challenge but overall, a flat, beautiful and easily runnable route!!! I am more than happy to help anyone who plans to take it on!!!
