Brendan Nicholson and I set out from Swamp Point trailhead at 5:16 AM May 22nd. Descended North Bass trail, crossed the river using Klymit pack rafts between Bass and Shinumo rapids. Left the rafts at the beach for the South Bass out and back. See google earth image attached for pack raft routes. Carried all our food and rafts, refilled with water in White and Shinumo creeks and from the Colorado river. Total time 19:18:36 which is faster than the female FKT published in Runner's World 11/13/2020, although I highly suspect there are other females out there who have done it faster, so apologies and much respect to them if I am incorrect about this FKT! Distance 41.03 miles from the trailhead sign at Swamp Point. Elevation gain 12, 972 ft.
Amazing trail and adventure! Five stars! Perfect weather, no injuries to speak of, tough navigation at night in creek beds.
