Started the Pleasant Creek Loop run at 5:02 am May 30, 2020. I had wonderful support during this endeavor. Each loop was 8.6 miles. I ran in the counter clockwise direction. Danielle Wangsness is my training partner. She is an amazing runner and even better person. The crazy idea of running 12 loops is mostly her idea. My goal was to run with Danielle as long as I could.
First loop I ran with Danielle and Heidi Kestel. Second loop was with Danielle, Heidi and Dr. Kent Miskimen. Third loop was with Danielle, Jen Even and Andrew Gray. Fourth loop was with Danielle and Jen. Fifth loop was with Danielle and Steve Hagarty. I encounter some glute muscle tightness that resulting taking time to stretch. Danielle continued ahead of me. I wasn't able to catch up as she ran very strong. Finished loop five with Steve. Sixth loop was with Steve and Jon Swails. I struggled in the afternoon heat. Temperatures were now in the low 70s but I am not heat adapted yet and my heart rate started climbing. So this resulted in a much slower loop. Half way done.
Seventh loop was with Carolyn Stone, Diane Hagarty and Jeff Dixon. Lots of company to keep my spirits up. Another slow loop fighting the heat. Loop 8 was ran with Carolyn. This was a better loop as the sun went down and the moon climbed. Loop 9 was with Andrew. Jen ran loop 10 with me. Loop 11 was ran with Jen and Steve. The final loop I had lots of company. Jen, Steve, Jon, Michele Thompson, Taylor Ross all did the last loop with me.
So 12 loops x 8.6 miles = 103.2 miles total. Strava read 105.2 miles. The big thing that I wanted to accomplish was the 12 loops! Mission accomplished.
Many special thanks to all of the wonderful running companions I had!!!
