Loved this 21 miler around Chelmsford. You can get here within 45 minutes from London and join the circuit at any point. We did it anti-clockwise and we were helped by some great feedback from Hugh & Thomas.

Stephen and I started in the grounds of Hylands Park. A beautiful hot sunny morning. First few miles in the park were great - we then found ourselves on the wrong side of the walled perimeter and not totally sure how to get out. Over the other side from the park is the only really big hill - but it was long and enjoyable - probably best to do it early in the fkt challenge. After that there were some amazing miles alongside fields of Sunflowers and through corn fields.

The route takes you through an equal mix of beautiful villages and some larger housing estates. A great section alongside the canal where we picked up the pace for a few miles. Final few miles were back through some very rutted fields - so the pace slowed a bit before we finished back in Hylands.

I strongly recommend this FKT for locals - it's fun and fast.
