This trail packs a lot in for a sub 10 miler

Waddesdon Manor is truly stunning - I pitched up during their Winter (socially distanced) Xmas Fair and the entire estate was lit up in lights and everyone was singing. The trail around the estate is thigh deep mud swamp! The stiles are literally in lakes. When I hit the farm at the bottom of the hill an entire army of cows came for me. They obviously new that the swampy mud was going to hold me up and their chances of mauling me were high. How I came away with my trainers was a miracle.

You then cross the main road and there is this amazing Alice in Wonderland track that runs alongside the road. A feature of the Tramway is that no-one seems to have used this trail for hundreds of years - it is so overgrown.

You arrive in the the village of Quainton which has this stunning windmill in the centre and it felt like the WickerMan. You u-turn and follow other FKT routes of Outer Aylesbury and North Bucks Way through more swampy fields. At which point you arrive at another farm. It was getting dark now and I was only able to navigate by stumbling into electrocuted fences. At least the farmer was kind enough to help he find the way off his land. Back into beautiful Christmas lit Waddesdon. Brilliant
