I know quite a bit of this area from Lea Valley 50 KM race and the London XC Met League in Stanborough Park but this route was still full of surprises and one massive error.

Started down by Mill Green which is part of the Lea Valley FKT but in this case takes you through the golf course. It is a great route but there was a lot of golf ball action going on. The Lea Valley section to Cole Green Way is fast and full of great sweeping turns turns.

After this there are several miles of footpaths and some great wide expanse field views.

Route really comes into it's own when you hit the parks of Sherrardspark Wood and Ayot Park - some quite decent elevation and it reminded me of the brilliant Epping Forest FKT.

Towards the end the crazy out of season warm weather and lack of fluids meant that the pace was dipping and as I got towards Stanborough Park (which I know well) there were loads of police cars arresting this guy and I took the completely wrong way. I felt I could go a long way and loop back in but there was the river running the full length and so I had to completely double back to get into the park near the lakes. The last section was still cracking.

This is a really slow time - if someone doesn't come and smash it soon I will come back and do it properly
