I ran this solo, with my crew of my two running buddies, Ryan and Richard, following me in a car. The first 14 miles are flat and are running through the city, so we set out at 5:00am to hopefully beat the traffic, and since it's Thailand, the heat. After 14 miles you turn off the main road and head into the mountains. The next 24 miles were mostly climbing. After the first several hours the sun made its appearance behind rain clouds and the next 5 hours were spent in the rain. Sometimes a drizzle and sometimes a downpour, but it kept me cool. The last 13 miles or so are mostly downhill and flat and so I hoped to make up some time. Unfortunately, the rain stopped and the sun came out, heating up overhead and evaporating the rain on the road as well. Despite the sauna-like conditions I finished with a handful of friends cheering for me at the end. A good day, and happy to have this loop in the books!
