Started & Finished on Station Road, Amersham (because I live in Amersham) - in the car park behind Ambers Clothing. Total time of 07hrs 36mins 56secs.

First 50k or so were good and strong running, with the sun coming out almost immediately after starting. Beautiful day for running. By Chesham Bois (55km or so), the heat had started to pick up and there was a lot of exposed running along the Chess Valley with chalk paths reflecting heat. Suffered for the last section (which you can see in the lap paces dropping off a cliff!), and ended up about 20mins shy of what I had hoped to get.

I was supported by a single crew member, who provided resupply at 3 points, Chartridge, Chesham Bois and Chalfont St Peter.

Of note was a diversion from course between Great Missenden and Potter Row road, due to the a footpath closure by HS2 works (HS2 Construction: closures and diversions | Buckinghamshire Council (buckscc.gov.uk) -> HS2 GMI Closure (buckscc.gov.uk)). It was scheduled to be open by 30th May 2021, but this was not the case both on the day I reccied that section to check (Thurs 03rd June 2021) and on the FKT day (Saturday 05th June 2021)

Other than the above unavoidable diversion, I followed the route GPX throughout, except in a couple of places where the signage directed me specifically (these were all equidistant route variations of <100m i.e. signage directs behind church, GPX directed in front of church etc.

Overall a great route, well worth someone having a crack at to beat the time. Let me know if you do and I'd be happy to support!
