Starting out from the Heysen Trailhead (Southern) in South Australia at Cape Jervis the ferry port for Kangaroo Island the first 70km includes technical cliff paths, dense scrub, and rocky ascent and descent in Deep Creek and momentum sucking cambers with a number of beaches to throw sand into the equation too and a 40% climb off one at Tunkalilla. At 70km you work in land through paddock, conservation technical climbs, and the forests of Kuitpo before going up through an old gold mining area (Jupiter Creek, Mylor) and up to a final trail monster climb to Mount Lofty summit where you touch the monument and stop the watch ! A Beautiful course !
