I hiked this loop on 10/24/20 starting at 4:06am from VA-311, McAfee knob trailhead. I finished the loop back at VA-311 at 4:07pm. This loop was challenging but I had so much fun doing it. I was alone the entire time, except I'm super friendly so I said hi to all the other hikers I saw. I left two jugs of water for myself, one at the Andy Layne parking area and another at Dragon's Tooth parking area. I used these to refill my water so I wouldn't have to sit and filter (I packed out the jugs, leave no trace). I started with food in my pack, and didn't pick up any more along the way- the cache's were just water. My highlight was seeing a rainbow. The last time I hiked this loop it took 15+ hours so I am very pleased with my new time. Overall it was a great hike and I'd like to do it again and try to beat my time again. I apologize for the amount of swearing in the video... I was too busy hiking to censor myself.
