With a 100 mile race in 2 weeks I wanted to complete medium distance, fast run so I decided to head back out on the The East Coast Greenway - Cheney Rail Trail - Hop River Rail Trail loop (RIM) to see if I am stronger and faster than 1 year ago. I was pleasantly surprised to be running so well in the first 3rd of the loop, but I had s slower middle section with all the road crossings, bumping into a chatty friend and a bathroom break. Despite all that I had a much faster time than last year! This loop is best done early morning before the traffic picks up on the roads and on the trails. Also, it is exposed on the ECG and it is paved, so that's another reason to get out early; you avoid the heat! I carried a 1L hydration pack with me. It was just the right amount of fluid with the distance and humidity.
