After several attemps to find a date, we finally agreed to do this trail today with my friend Hugo.
After a quick search, I realize that this route is listed as an FKT, so it was all decided, we go easy on the first part before pushing a little at the end if the FKT is reachable. So this morning (28/01/2023), we parked Hugo's car at the Kautenbach train station and we went to Ettelbruck by train. From Ettelbruck, we started easy, the trail is nice and easy, during 15k, we progress at a good pace, the landscape is kind of rolling, not big hills in view. However, after 15k, a huge downhill bring us in the valley, from there, the up and downs follow each others, with some climbs reaching more than 250m d+, who said Luxembourg was flat? After that, what can we say that has never been said about it, the landscape are impressive at several points, the trails are technical during some parts and, obviously, the "Lee" trails are worth seeing, this is very uncommon and breath taking. Finally, in the last 2 hills, we decided to push a little to have a good training on tired legs and take the FKT at the same time. In the end, this is a good day on trail, with friend and, cherry on the cake, a good time!
