I started this run at 5:44am at the western terminus of the trail in Dodgeville. I carried all of my nutrition with me, which was two pouches of Honey Stinger Chews, one 500 mL bottle of UCAN and one 500 mL bottle of GU Brew. It ended up being the perfect amount to get me through and I didn't replenish at any point. It was a cloudy morning and not overly humid or hot, so overall the weather was favorable. My wife was a trooper and stopped to cheer me on at Ridgeway, Blue Mounds, Mount Horeb and Riley holding funny signs. It was unclear where to finish so I went all the way over the bridge, as others have suggested, for a total distance of 40.67 miles. I do not have a GPS watch so I borrowed my wife's Suunto watch for this run, and I also did track it with the Strava app on my phone to be extra safe.
