By pure coincidence, we ended up running this FKT route. We only decided the day before to give it a try. We started at 9:00 AM, each carrying 4 liters of water, knowing the heat would be our biggest challenge. The descent was simply incredible. Running through such a unique landscape, all the way down to the Colorado River, felt surreal. It's a magical place where few people make it. Every step deeper into the canyon was unforgettable. The climb back up, however, was a completely different story. It was tough, relentless, and demanded constant hydration. We kept drinking and took every opportunity to cool down in the small streams alongside the trail.
An unforgettable adventure and a truly unique way to experience the Grand Canyon—but definitely not an easy run.
Down is optional. Up is mandatory. 🏜️🔥
