Report

Sunday May 25th around 7am we (Raymon and I) arrived around the same time in Loon Op Zand at "Het Witte Kasteel". After we parked our cars we looked for the point where Chris and Wim started. It had been sunny all the month of May, but unfortunately for us, it rained this morning, and continued to rain for the whole run.

Before the run we, of course, read the report by Chris and Wim and looked at Google Maps a few times to understand what we could encounter. Overall the route was fun, lots of single track, some wider paths and some concrete/tarmac. What made it difficult in some parts was the very high (above the knee) grass for longer stretches, especially the long path along the river, in some sections we didn't even see a path anymore and it was difficult to navigate through the landscape. Of course the section with the Loonse en Drunense Duinen (dunes) was also challenging, as the sand is loose/dry, and you would literally sink 5-10 centimeters in some parts. As this is closer to the end of the route (for us at least it was) it makes it challenging/heavy, but it is also a fantastic scenery as the pictures hopefully show.

All in all, we ended up running the course in 3 hours 31 minutes and 15 seconds, and we had a fantastic day with lots of laughter and great conversations. What a fun mini-adventure this was!
