Run the Al Qudra cycle track, from BOTS (bottom of the stick) and back again.
Started from my community and was joined by several friends for the initial route, with some leaving around 15km mark and others staying until 30km and 1 managing to see out 80km on his own.
Luckily as a mood riser, I was joined for 1km with my brother before pit stop 4 and then a friend joined at around 90km mark for 3/4km - these were definitely needed for some chat.
Set off from Damac Hills 2, with circa 12/13km run to get to BOTS.
From there, the route would follow the Al Qudra cycle track, which consists of both tarmac and desert/gravel, however I was mainly aiming to stay on the desert/gravel track for the majority.
Little elevation only at certain parts of the route, nothing too challenging.
For refueling, most nutrition was carried throughout the route, attempting to make it
1st pit stop was a garage around 3km from the beginning of BOTS, circa 16km into the route in total (short route explanation and toilet break for 1 companion)
2nd pit stop was at Zads, a grocery shop at the TOTS (top of the stick), located at the start of the Al Qudra Cycle Loop at around 30km mark of the run.
3rd pit stop was a short halt at around 43km, near the DEWA plant, where my brother met me with water to top up my hydration pack before heading for a long stretch in the desert.
4th pit stop was at a Mosque, around 68/69km, near Bab Al Shams, where a water facility was available for refilling my hydration pack.
5th pit stop was back at Zads at 80km, where I met with family and quickly changed socks and t-shirt and refueled before the last 20km back to BOTS.
6th pit stop was a last-ditch effort for energy, back at the garage on the 'stick' and around 3km from the finish line.
Great day out and definitely a challenge to try and beat in the future!
