I have been thinking about running this section of the Bruce Trail for some time now. Finally, I asked Allan if he could crew for me on the run, and he didn’t hesitate to say yes.
I started early in the morning, around 06:00 hrs, heading from south to north. The weather was beautifully sunny, with no rain throughout the day. The trail was mostly dry, except for a few muddy sections. Some parts of the trail were very technical, making it difficult to maintain a steady rhythm and pace.
There were several trail closures that I wasn’t prepared for—I should have checked beforehand. Some sections were also hard to navigate, and I ended up running an extra 5 km.
I twisted my ankle several times, so I decided to slow down to avoid injury. Overall, it was a great day. I’m happy with the result and look forward to running more sections of the Bruce Trail.
