There were 2 places where I spent ages trying to locate the footpath entrance as there was tree felling and the trees were blocking the path! I went really wrong around 4 miles in because I couldn't see the footpath (because of aforementioned tree felling) and went up a steep and very muddy hill - never mind, it's character building!!!!! There were a couple of places where the gpx strays off the official Hangers Way but I made sure I followed the Hangers Way signs. In particular, at the end, the gpx 'finish' appears to be up a hill somewhere and stops way short of the end of Hangers Way. I continued following the signs and wasn't quite sure where the Hangers Way official end was but felt that the car park was probably it, so I did a little longer than the gpx, but feel I completed the full length of the Hangers Way! There is a very steep hill around half way, leading up to the Shoulder of Mutton viewpoint, and another steep hill right towards the end where the chalk pit quarry is. There are shops along the route to stop for water/food if needs be. Absolute mud fest in places. A really lovely route!
