FKT: Ella Xu - Honey Hump - 2023-09-16

The south side of the mountain and the summit were extra cold and windy due to Hurricane Lee. The cool, dry, overcast weather made for favorable conditions as the past couple of weeks have been rather humid and wet.

The first 11ish miles (from the parking lot to the Burrows trailhead) were fairly easy—up and down on dirt roads and trails. There were a lot of humans and dogs on Burrows, but the trail was good otherwise. In contrast, the descent on the LT north was riddled with smooth, wet slabs and ankle deep mud.
