The weather was perfect; a little chilly which meant some extra weight and safety layers but it also meant I wasn't overheating all day! Water was scarce on the route so I pumped fresh water and carried extra to be sure I was set. Wildflowers were going off, I absolutely lucked out there. Amazing trails and quite good shape considering how remote the country is up there. Huge shout out to my buddy Nathan who put the route together a while back and shared it with me (and then loaned me his garmin so I could do it solo and have a little more security without having to drive into town afterwards to get an 'I made it' message back to loved ones). This was my first real trip into the Pasayten Wilderness and I have dreamed of it since I was a young girl! It did not disappoint! Chewuch River Trail had some rolly rocks that were a little brutal that late in the mileage and that last climb to transition back to the road leading down to Swamp Creek was a bit rough as I really hadn't gotten in a ton of vert training... But for a nearly 100% single track and remote single track at that I was super impressed with the condition of the trails and had a stellar day!
Route was solo, packed my food and safety supplies and pumped water along the way. It would be dry later in the year and require potentially packing more water at the larger creek crossings... Photos provided under route photos (first time navigating this whole FKT thing, I'm sure I did it very wrong, please forgive!)
