This was my first FKT attempt up Mt. Mitchell and it was so fun to run up the tallest mountain in the east AND in my home state!! The trail was really technical, but I was moving along well until mile four and then it turned into a glorified series of box jumps. After hoisting myself up a mile of rocks, the trail finally flattened out enough to get some speed again. It was fun meeting Mason Coppi at the top and celebrating with a shuffle down the mountain!
